FrankWhite is an educator, space philosopher, and communications consultant. He has authored or coauthored numerous books on topics ranging from space exploration to climate change to artificial intelligence. His best-known work, The Overview Effect: Space Exploration and Human Evolution, is considered by many to be a seminal work in the field of space exploration.
Since the first edition of his book on the subject was published in 1987, "theOverview Effect" has become a standard term for describing the spaceflight experience. He is the co-founder and president of the Human Space Program,Inc., a central project to develop a blueprint for conscious space migration and stewardship of the solar ecosystem.
Frank is also a communications professional with experience in multiple forms of media and in disciplines ranging from publicrelations for high technology companies to development communications for nonprofit organizations. He previously held development communications positions at Harvard University. He teaches courses on fundraising and communications at Harvard Extension School and Harvard Summer School.
Frank is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and a Rhodes Scholar. He earned his M.Phil. in Politics from Oxford University.
